If you want small-town charm, newer homes and a little more elbow room, without giving up a reasonable drive to Columbus, head south. Ashville and Commercial Point are two Pickaway County villages that have become some of Central Ohio's fastest-growing places to call home.
What homes cost. In Ashville, homes have recently sold around a median of about $380,000. In Commercial Point, where newer construction makes up much of the market, the median runs closer to $445,000. Both have a mix of established homes and new communities from national and local builders.
Small-town personality. Ashville is known for its big Fourth of July celebration and claims the oldest working traffic light in America, now on display at the Ashville Museum. Commercial Point offers quiet streets, a close-knit feel, and quick access to US-23 and SR-104.
Getting outside. Slate Run Metro Park sits nearby, home to Slate Run Living Historical Farm, wetlands trails and plenty of open space for weekend adventures.
Schools. Both villages are generally served by Teays Valley Local Schools. District lines can vary at the edges, so confirm by address; we're happy to check for you.
Getting around. Grove City is a short drive north, and downtown Columbus is roughly a half hour away, depending on where you start.
